Stone Boulevard 13 kV Overhead-Underground Conversion

Atwell & Gent provided full planning, design, procurement, and construction administration services required to convert an existing overhead 13 kV feeder circuit to underground on Stone Boulevard at Mississippi State University. Design services for this project included site surveys and mapping, planning, permitting, physical and electrical design, phasing and final connections. Our firm was responsible for the review of vendor submittals and drawings as well as the incorporation of completed vendor drawings into the final construction package. Atwell & Gent was responsible for construction administration of the project, including project coordination, scheduling, field inspections, and final acceptance.

Project Details:

• Construction of approximately 0.7 miles of converting existing overhead 13 kV feeder circuit to underground.
• Work consisted of the creation of a new underground 13 kV feeder circuit, installation of four new SF6 insulated 13 kV switchgear units, and demolition of the existing overheard 13 kV feeder circuit.
